@TenderSausage would you have any idea why it wouldve stopped working? Because I was able to stream for a month, then in changed. Any Idea why it would suddenly change?

@TotallyVintage So, like what @LucaLynxDrive mentioned, sometimes if your local IP address is assigned to specific binds you may lose connectivity when it changes.(edited)
alright so let me lay this out for you. Our internet comes in through our Frontier modem. It hooks to my brothers and dads PC, but for some reason doesn't do Wireless. We have an ethernet connecting a NetGear r6080 router to it. I ethernet to the router because I am too far from the Modem. This router runs all the wireless for phones and TV and such.
Knowing what I know now, there is one thing you can do very quickly
9:35 PM
figure out how to plug into the Frontier box and see if you can get a connection with Twitch servers.
9:35 PM
Your network configuration has a network within a network
9:36 PM
it doesn't affect things functionally, meaning all of the devices are all connected to the internet, but the wireless network exists within a wired LAN in your case, instead of them existing together.
Hey guys, new here and was wondering if someone could help me, looking for a 2nd pc rig just for the streaming part of stream labs or obs as well as running the mic and webcam. Already have a gaming pc but looking to destress my main rig, what would you guys recommend in the smaller budget side (around 300-400) for a computer to just run the streaming aspect
@SnickerxDoodle You could try using an Intel NUC, some of the 6th Gen versions are right around that price range with an i5 2.9GHz 4-Core and 8GB DDR4.
5:57 PM
Other options include a custom build with slightly dated parts you can get on sale
Hello! I’m looking for info about mics and headsets. I’ve got my eyes on the TB 700 gen 2 because it can do an xbox connection AND bluetooth. Is it ideal for streaming on OBS?
4:57 PM
its that or the Steel 7 that ive been hearing a lot about
I HAVE listened to the Arctis 7 and they are really nice, and quite comfortable. The battery won't do 24 hours like they claim, but it's noticably longer than most other wireless options.
7:12 PM
I have not listened to the Gen 2, but I assume the audio components didn't change much.
It will work both ways with either headset, I'm pretty sure
7:17 PM
you have a ton of options
7:19 PM
My recommendation would be to just use the console for the game and little else, and to use the PC for everything else. I'm making some assumptions about your streaming PC's specs.
Hi guys! Hope you guys can give me some advice on my current PC specs (see photo). Would it be able to support streaming COD? If no, which parts should I considering upgrading first? Graphics card and RAM?
Good morning I’m a up and coming streamer looking for a good webcam to use while streaming but I don’t have any monitors or anything like that. Is there any good webcams I can use to stream off my Xbox One X. My setup 100% supports 4K UHD and pricing on the webcam doesn’t matter.
@neko.xvi The best way to test this is to do a test stream. If you'd like assistance setting that up, I'd be glad to help.
5:52 PM
@BlindStein It all depends. I'm in the process of creating a 2-PC map for this purpose. It's still in the concept stage. Here's my setup map right now (incomplete).
5:53 PM
I'm still not sure what the ideal setup is. I'm still weighing all the pros and cons.
@GimmeYaAuntE I know they support all Microsoft and Logitech webcams. If money is no concern, the Brio will let you do 1920x1080p60 (if the Xbox lets you configure it as such, I don't have a console to test).

@VelvetPurgatory I use SLOBS. It's convenient for me and includes most everything from OBS that you need. I have X-Split and intend to test it, but haven't.
I purchased an Elgato 4k60 Pro and later realized my stream PC doesn't have a PCIe slot big enough to fit the card. So I went out and returned it today and got the HD60S+ but I can't get it to work. For a little while i started to freak out and think it was only made for consoles but that doesnt seem to be the case. I think its because i don't have an HDMI 2.0 cable for the 'out' side of the card. But I realized since I'm not doing console streaming, am I better off just returning the HD60s+ for a HD60 Pro? I dont need the portability of the HD60S+. My monitor is a Pixio Hayabusa (240hz). Should i keep trying with a capture card or maybe just stick with NDI scan converter?(edited)
so say I'm playing a game via a capture card. The game audio is being played on stream via the capture card, my stream can hear me via my usb microphone. If i want my stream to hear a discord call, what scene do I use?
@Cal There's not enough information to give you an answer, unfortunately. Is this 2-PC, or console+PC? Where is Discord installed? Where is your Microphone plugged in?
@TenderSausage have you used it before? Im trying to send my gaming pc’s screen to a streaming pc. No its not a usb 2.0. I dont understand how not having the output utilized would do anything
@LaFlamaBlanca I'm trying not to be offended by your question. Of course I've used one.
4:45 PM
The capture card doesn't require an HDMI out because it uses the USB 3.0 connection. The HDMI out is simply a passthrough.
4:46 PM
You CAN use it if you need it, for example in situations where you have a device with only one output, like a console.(edited)
4:47 PM
In a 2-PC setup, you're better off using multiple outputs from your video card instead of using the HDMI out on your capture card because of flexibility.
4:48 PM
For example, you will need to have all devices on a single output set at the same refresh rate. Not having these in sync can cause issues.(edited)
4:50 PM
If you use a DP for your monitor and a separate HDMI for your capture card, you can run your monitor at one refresh rate and your capture card at a different rate. In your case, this is necessary because you have a 240hz monitor and a 60hz capture card.
4:50 PM
Running your 240Hz monitor through the HDMI out on the capture card will cause refresh rate issues.
You said “In a 2-PC setup, you're better off using multiple outputs from your video card instead of using the HDMI out on your capture card because of flexibility.” I dont understand.
4:56 PM
“”If you use a DP for your monitor and a separate HDMI for your capture card, you can run your monitor at one refresh rate and your capture card at a different rate. In your case, this is necessary because you have a 240hz monitor and a 60hz capture card.”” So how do i set this up?(edited)
yea i remember us talking about that. thanks for all your help. how can i test that the audio is going through the capture card to the stream pc? Im just playing some music right now on gaming pc, and i have the 4k capture utility up on the Stream pc.
5:22 PM
also do you think im better off with the actual pcie card? the hd60 Pro??
@TenderSausage Hey Tender one more quick question. Im about to go exchange the HD60s+ for an HD60 PRo (if they have it in stock). when i get that and get it installed, all i need to do is run an hdmi from the gaming pc to that card's IN port on the stream pc, correct?
@TenderSausage Hey Tender. was hoping to call on you for help once again. I've got voicemeter banana installed on both my PC's but im absolutely struggling to get it set up correctly. Every tutorial video wants to set it up with just one microphone. but I'm trying to set it up with two microphones. its a complete headache and im getting my own gaming pc's audio feedback into my headset right now. I have my stream PC using a blue snowball microphone, which is what i want viewers to hear. But on my gaming PC, I have my logitech headset with mic, and that is what I want Discord and my games to use. so friends/teammates etc hear the audio from my headset, but my stream gets the blue snowball audio. is this possible?
no you're fine i understand. I guess its more for my own convenience more than anything. i just dont like having the snowball anywhere near my face when gaming. i guess i could put it back up above my monitor and try that.
TenderSausage
Would you rather just port one mic to both sources?
I thought i had it all up and running, i was so close. but im getting a slight echo from my gaming pc whenever i have sound coming in from my streaming pc. something isnt set up right. my brain is tired now.
Sorry @LaFlamaBlanca I didn't get a chance to get your map done. Got caught up with work, then HOA meeting, then kids, then sleep, then 5AM call with the Bulgarian team (I'm in Oregon, USA).(edited)
There is currently no built-in test function in OBS. To try to test your streaming environment, you can run a "test" stream with Twitch by adding "? bandwidthtest" or "? bandwidthtest=true" to the end of your stream key string.
Hey! So I have a 2 PC Stream setup and I have a couple of questions:
How can I be able to have my follow/dono notifications show up on stream WITH me being able to actually hear them? Right now I am only aware of these events because of my twitch bot, and sadly its pretty late to notify sometimes.
What is the best way to use something like NohBoard on stream? NohBoard is a program which displays my keyboard inputs, but im unsure how to do this on 2 computers. Thanks!
The main benefit of a two system setup is that your gaming PC is free to be the tip top of its performance potential. So, like, if you play competition level games, it’s worth all the hassle.(edited)
You think so? It just feels like such a massive hassle, like even something as simple as using voicemeeter to transmit audio from 1 PC to the next is absurdly inconcistent
Okay but how is it possible for me to have a good looking stream on the 2nd PC though? I can't window capture anything, I can pretty much only monitor capture what my main PC is looking at
5:47 AM
and have like streamlabs widgets (which are also inconsistent at best)
Right yeah but I'm saying for example when I'm speedrunning I wouldn't be able to incorporate LiveSplit into my overlay without blocking a part of my game
5:50 AM
because I can't window capture it
5:50 AM
or if i play something on spotify i cant show the song title on stream for the same reason
Wow I will say though this NDI thing works much easier than using a capture card + Voicemeeter, are there any downsides to using this as opposed to a capcard?
6:17 AM
Hm I guess I can't have the audio that I physically hear be a different volume than what the stream hears
6:17 AM
but on the otherhand voicemeeter randomly stopped working on my Streaming PC lol
