ty again, that cable was perfect but my brain took a while to figure out which slots on my pc worked best, for anyone wondering - LINE IN can be several diff colors. mine was light blue
4:25 AM
tried like 2 other "mic" slots that didnt work, then the rest was finding which parts i needed to use on the mixer, which was MAIN output and it took me a sad amount of time to figure that out
@Takentrash: Sadly I won't be able to stream (Mortal Shell) unless I figure out the horrible lag issue I can run it on high without stream but even on low while streaming it lags really bad
Anyone have advice for them? They're going to mess around in streamlabs to see if they can fix the issue there.(edited)
What’re some of the factors I should consider other than price when deciding if I should go with an AMD 5 series vs AMD 7? Basically I’m trying to get the most bang for my buck and am having a hard time figuring it out
9:45 PM
For example is the $100 increase in price worth choosing the Ryzen 7 3700 X over the Ryzen 5 3600
9:46 PM
I know you broke it down a little for me @TenderSausage but if I have a little bit bigger of a budget I wanna know where I should put it
I think I’d prioritize any amount of additional budget on GPU in your case, not CPU.
11:49 PM
The biggest motivator on the 3600 vs. 3700x is bang for buck.
11:52 PM
The 3700x is approx. 15% better across the board, but only marginally better in single-threaded applications than the 3600. With that said, at current prices, the 3700x is 50% more than the 3600.
11:55 PM
To me, it makes sense to spend the extra $100 on a better GPU or more RAM.
11:56 PM
32gb of RAM is what I run, and I think it makes a huge difference.
So do the gpu and cpu act independently of each other in that I can spend the extra $ on a better gpu and be able to capitalize on those extra benefits even if I’m keeping the original cpu?
So are you trying to capture a PC and incorporate live translation? I’m unclear why you’re using a phone to re-capture the output on the PC. @quake(edited)
So are you trying to capture a PC and incorporate live translation? I’m unclear why you’re using a phone to re-capture the output on the PC. @quake
@TenderSausage the input will be hdmi, which could be PC or console. phone hardware is needed to use google translate natively, output could be through scrcpy or also hdmi or other tools
@quake I'm sorry, but I don't quite understand still. You have a source that you want to translate, such as a PC input or a console? Or are you trying to live translate chat audio? What do you do with it once it's in the phone?
What headset would you recommend for streaming? I'll specifically be playing super smash bros ultimate so I won't neccesarily be near my 2020 macbook pro, so I'd prefer it be bluetooth, fairly portable, and good sound quality.
I have a weird question. So my old headphones had a bluetooth tab that I would just plug into the front of my pc when I wanted them on and when I streamed it would put my voice audio as well as my friends audio when they were in party with me. I recently bought a new set of headphones and now my party audio doesnt come through on stream anymore. How can I bring back my party audio?

Hey all, hope you’re well. I’ve just got round to finishing my panels for my channel. I can view this via the twitch app on my phone, but they do not show on the desktop site. Does anyone know why this is the case?
@cwnnor I want to make sure I'm understanding the issue. You're experiencing an issue where custom panels in the About section of your channel profile are visible on the mobile app but not on the desktop site, correct?(edited)
@TenderSausage thanks so much for your help. When I’m logged in on my twitch account, I can see the panels via the twitch app and by going online. However, if I just got to twitch and search CM96 the panels then do not come up.
11:22 AM
11:22 AM
@TenderSausage so, I just wondered, if I were to point someone to my channel, that they wouldn’t be able to view anything. However, if you can see them, I’m not sure why I cannot.
11:23 AM
@TenderSausage thank you so much for your help though!

@TenderSausage Yes. I know there's a software method of doing it, but the quality is garbage. There were some hardware 'cards' that you could install onto the mainboard of the 3DS that would provide a USB port to connect it to PC. I seem to be having trouble finding said 'cards' anymore

Hey everyone, quick question regarding dropped frames on my stream. So I just started playing New World and I am having an issue where once I start moving in game, frames on my stream drop significantly. My question for everybody is.... how do I test to find out what the problem is (hardware, settings, internet)? Any help is welcomed! THANK YOU!!
So the Kinect works, my Xbox works, I’ve gone into my settings and the camera itself works. Twitch on the Xbox one no longer supports Kinect as a streaming device I don’t think?
I have a pretty old computer and tried streaming the other day so some people could follow along, and my fps came to a crawl, loading screens took 3x as long, and the stream itself was low fps too. I used Twitch's own broadcasting software. Is there anything I can try to make things better without changing the stream resolution to 480p?
Then you can go to https://inspector.twitch.tv and you should be able to look at the charts for your last test stream and see if that gives you any clues.
@maloik In my opinion, I think you’re hitting the top of what your hardware can do. I’d recommend the following: In Twitch Studio, go to your stream settings, hit the Advanced button, and turn off psycho tuning, and change your encoder your software and see if that helps.
6:52 PM
I’d leave the bitrate at 3500.(edited)
6:53 PM
You might want to consider streaming at 30fps as well.
6:54 PM
@aidan You’re trying to have desktop audio go through your stream, but not out your speakers?(edited)
6:58 PM
@maloik Honestly, after really looking at the graph, just streaming at 30fps is going to make a huge difference.
Hey, i have the capture card elgato hd60s. Almost everytime when I stream, after a while, the capture card stops picking up ingame sounds. Usually when I plug it out and back in again it starts to work again. But it is tiresome putting on the brb screen and leaving the viewers to fix this. What could be wrong with it? The capture card is brand new
I did capture gameplay before in the elgato software and there were no problems. Now I am streaming in streanlabs obs. As in consistent amount you mean what? Usually it stops pickung up sound after about half an hour of streaming and after that is it ok usually. Yesterday it stopped again almost at the end of the stream. One of my viewers suggested that the hdmi cable could be defective cuz pluging them in and out usuallt helps. One time it didn’t even pick up the streaning signal it only said “looking for signal” then I changed the hdmi and it was ok. So i really hope it is not the elgatos fault. But even after i changed the cable it still does the same thing with the sound. I stream from my switch. And use a macbook.
@urshi I just like to ask a few questions to see if we can get to root cause.
4:55 PM
So the issue is that after switching from Elgato's streaming software to SLOBS, your game capture stops after a certain amount of time, requiring you to unplug and reconnect your input source. Correct?
Hey everyone! Currently, I was running my stream using StreamLabs OBS and did not have any issues for about 3 hours. When I switched over to VALORANT my stream started to hit massive frame skips and my viewers reported massive frame drops out of nowhere. The interesting this for me is that my actual computer seem to be running fine. I was recording and streaming at the same time using nvenc (new) with a 2060 Zotac AMP) and I have a 3900X cpu. I was also running my stream at 4500 bitrate as it says to do on the https://stream.twitch.tv/encoding/ website for the 720p 60fps. Am I doing something wrong? Could it be my bitrate is set too high? I dont want to have to low of a quality stream and am worried about going to an even smaller resolution. Please help me out I would really appreciate it!
@TenderSausage I think I found out what the issue was, did some digging and it seems that most gpus even with the new encoder cannot run two encoder tasks at the same time efficiently. Thats why the drop of performance was happening and the frames were being missed. The encoder couldnt handle it.
11:09 PM
I really appreciate your help with this and I couldnt have found it without you!
So I've got everything else working fine and need some good mic recs preferably under 30$ (mic is not going to be the focus of stream so don't care much about it). I have some Iphone headphones but they were picking up too much background noise. I do have a fish tank behind me so idk how well a mic will even work
Primary stream to Twitch, but looking to add Facebook Live as well using the Output > Recording tab in OBS Studio using server URL and stream key, but I cannot get it to work.
4:38 PM
Anyone familiar with multistreaming to Twitch and Facebook?
I don't know if this is the place to ask but I am trying to stream AAA games (i.e witcher 3, borderlands 3) but they seem to be decently laggy in the stream - while my fps while playing doesnt drop and is at ~130 all time i tried downscaling(1080p -> 720p), lowering the bitrate, trying obs studio (i use streamlabs), lowering the ingame gpu settings, going to only 30fps instaed of 60, using x264 instead of nvenc - windows game mode is turned off already i am using a 2080super, ryzen 5 3600, 16 gb ram does anyone maybe know why?
2 part question I've thought about setting up a song request thing to play stuff off Spotify or Amazon Music. Should I set that as a separate audio track? My goal is something easy for the VOD so it's not completely muted.
7:56 AM
And has anyone been streaming the Tony Hawk remake or any games with licensed music? Curious if there's any issues there.
@TenderSausage some extra info: on yesterdays stream I connected my capture card to streamlabs 45mins before starting or so. It did stopped picking up sound after a while but before I started streaming. So after that I unplugged and plugged it back in and it worked and did not stoped working until I finished
Good Morning, Where do I start. I started streaming using the PS4 Share button about a month or so ago and really enjoyed it. So I decided to buy all the other things to make myself more profession. Webcam, Mic, Elgato etc. etc. Upon buying all this and downloading the applications (Streamlabs, Elgato). I got myself sorted. I started playing my games and the FPS was sooooooo bad. I'm certain this was because I have a MacBook Air and it wouldn't be able to handle it. So I've been looking into investing in a gaming laptop. However, I'm not sure if my internet is the case as well. I've got a low 40's download and about a 7-10 upload. (I'm UK based). Just after a bit of guidance on whether my internet would be able to handle the streaming?
@RefereeClark I'm sure there are many plugins for OBS/SLOBS that will do that. The licensing thing though... I don't know much about that. I think a lot of that is still being decided. Have you looked into what has happened for streamers that play games like Guitar Hero?
3:47 PM
I think there was a big push recently targeting people doing like karaoke games, too.
3:48 PM
@Friendly I've used VCam before. Let me know if you need help with it
I tried that once I think I tried using OBS Studio because of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxHYnL5CTJ0 where I set that to 2 - no difference - but I will change that nonetheless
@HJM Revisiting your issue, the MacBook Air is likely a big part of your current issue. Pretty much any Elgato capture requires discrete graphics, which I don't think the MBAs have (unless you have a thunderbolt eGPU, then maybe?)
An issue i had with my Elgato HD60 S+ (I was trying various laptops dotted around the house) When i plugged it in to an older laptop, it said i need to use a USB3.0. I'm assuming the NUC normally has that feature and it was just the old shitty laptop that didnt?
Before you read, please note that this is only useful if a third party service like https://restream.io doesn't suit your needs. Also, some of the more complicated setups might require a good understanding of command-line FFmpeg. If you need help...
question e'rbody...I'm trying to run 240hz to my monitor, and 60 hz to my elgato hd60s+ and have been thus far unsuccessful. The best I've been able to do is run 60 hz through the capture card.
12:30 AM
I even tried buying a secondary (albeit dinky) gpu to run exclusively to the capture card and I'm unable to adjust the settings in windows specifically for that GPU, sol needless to say it stutters and struggles to run at all using the same settings as my 2070super
12:30 AM
I'm really at the end of my scope of knowledge. How does everyone else run high framerates to their monitors while still capturing the extremely limited 60hz for their elgatos?
right now the HDMI is coming out of an msi gt710, but before tonight I tried running the hdmi out of one of the hdmi ports on the 2070super, the same card the DP is running to the monitor from. different issues, also unsuccessful
The option to change the framerate on my capture card is greyed out with no way to select 60hz? How does everyone else game at 144-240 while capturing at 60hz? Am I missing something?
Welcome to the first guide on my website! In this guide, I will show you how you can use a 144Hz, 120Hz or Nvidia G-sync monitor together with an Elgato Game Capture HD60 Pro, to play games at the …
@TenderSausage btw my next streams were far better after applying your settings changes... still a bit choppy at times, and I got warnings about dropped frames (esp during loading screens) but it was largely fine
I've followed the directions on that page a few times, the problem is that once I click APPLY after adjusting the elgatos framerate on the ADJUST DESKTOP SIZE AND POSITION tab, the framerate field reverts the value to 120hz.

hey everyone, I just bought a desktop to replace my shitty laptop but I have an issue. I only have 1 ethernet access port in my room and I use one for my Xbox. I'd like for my new desktop to be hardwired, even though it does have Wireless support. I've heard of switches that give access to more than one device, but Idk how safe that is. Need some help here
So I have a question I think I already know the answer to but I figured I’d ask anyway. I’m looking to stream from my Switch to my laptop. I’m going to be moving back into my dorm room soon which doesn’t have a TV and I’d rather not spend money on a TV or monitor if I can avoid it, especially with how expensive capture cards are. From what I’ve seen, if I use a capture card to play games, say, in the OBS preview window, there will be a lag compared to if I play using an HDMI device that’s passed through. Is there any way to get around this (ie: stream on and play on the laptop at the same time, without a second HDMI device)?
How do I make my OBS not play the audio that is coming out of my stream through my desktop. My desktop audio is my game audio and it just loops the same sound whenever I have OBS open. Muting OBS on volume mixer makes it so my entire desktop audio source just doesnt make sound anymore.
Please could someone assist with an issue I've found when watching back some of my videos. I don't notice it when I'm live but maybe I'm too distracted (will check tonight); I have this choppy/robotic audio that happens randomly throughout my stream. The game audio is fine but my mic has the issue, for example on the below, I thought I made quite a funny remark at the time but now you cant hear what I said at all: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/741136744?t=0h6m1s
10:14 AM
I'm using an Avermedia Streaming Mic 133p and Streamblabs OBS if that's any help at all.
ive been streaming for like 2 months. but my notebook screen isnt working and i wanted to stream from ps4 for a while. i just wanted to know if the bots i set up (streamlabs, cloudbot, nightbot) will be available
Hey for all you elgato+streamlabs people, I have a webcam plugged in and I do not want that microphone as my audio input because my room can be echoey and also my desktop is close to the webcam so there is a slight fan sound
