Hey there, what do you guys know about copyright an that kind of stuff?.. A band i like made their stems for a few of their songs open source. does this mean if i remake the song using the stems to sound pretty much the same but instrumental i could use it on twitch without any copyright infringements?
@idkwhyievenhavethis if the band gave up copyright on a song then you can use it on stream or cover it without worry. But you better make absolutely sure so you don't get a copy strike.(edited)
remnant from the ashes is a nice little looter shooter

tbh i thought it was a boring post apocalyptic game at first until you switch planets and your enemies are a bunch of flying skulls and angry tusken raiders
Yeah clientele here is a bunch of monsters. been in this industry 18 years never seen anything like it. Been time to move on for a while. Got another job lined up, gonna take a couple weeks in between. Moar stream time >:]
Lol @FantasticMrCat thought about a catcam also but mine moves around too much
6:21 PM
@MisterPheeny keeping up with the New World preview tonight. Almost at 100 followers which is my first bignone since 50, and I've never done a f4f lol so I feel good about that
So what social media is the easiest to start out with that can move your audience into watching your content like I am making a podcast soon so I want to focus on one social media go hard in that then diversify(edited)

@maskedroyalwindadept That's hard to say exactly. You need to find your audience and that could be on any of the socials depending on your content. For general advice, I'd recommend YouTube
YouTube is probably the best but also is the biggest time investment. If you know video editing and can make good content for YouTube then do that. Otherwise I'd say like tiktok or Instagram lol
Myself for instance, know nothing about video editing so I'm learning until I feel I can put out quality stuff on YouTube. Until then I'm on insta and Twitter
Hey everyone. How’s it going? I’ve been thinking for a long time about streaming gameplay, but I have literally no idea where to start, what I need, how to do it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Hey thanks for hanging out with me tonight for those who popped in and said hi! It was fun chatting with you guys.
3:45 AM
@deathgecs first, nice avatar. I'm a huge Batman geek lol second, look into getting a decent webcam and microphone. And third, check out alpha streaming on youtube, that guy has super helpful videos to get you started.
Hey everyone, thank you to those who came to watch my stream, I appreciate yall so so much❤️ I'm going to be taking the weekend off but I'll be back Monday at my usual time. ❤️
Okay what's better for a podcast recording So would 10 sec breaks in recording with silence be better or breaking it up in sessions giving myself a short 20 sec break water bathroom etc, then figuring out how to edit new session to seemlessly flow from the old session better ( like I did it in one shot).
@maskedroyalwindadept audacity has a lot of tweaks you can make to stuff. You can delete, re arrange, make things louder, make space between segments. Pretty intuitive but I would do some research for specific things you wanna do

@maskedroyalwindadept I've always recorded sessions then come back to edit on audacity, but that's always with guests or other people. Just started a live podcast on twitcg that I don't edit but I HATE editing, my next podcast will probably not be edited, just because I don't like the process.
do you need good computer to mirror your apple devices on the pc to record or stream?
2:05 AM
or do you need good computer to stream but not record..
2:06 AM
I've been recording with screen record feature with my iphone and edit with splice app. But I really want to divert the work using my pc so I can use my phone for other things..
4/9 sections done with that part one of my script is finshed I will do the rest tmrw or throughout the week but really I should be good for tmrw around this time
Really quick i just want to thank everyone for helping me get this close to affiliate I beat the followers goal now I just need to get 0.4 more average views thanks to all that helped in the journey
Hey guys I don’t really wanna self promote but Iv just started up streaming I play call of duty GBS and also war zone and sometimes pubs when fifa 21 comes out I’ll be playing that aswel on stream so how does this work can we self promote on here or not ?? Thanks in advance for the help and support
@Thercio the only thing I don't like about how the sub is, is now people post something nice and relevant and then spam the comments with twitch names. It's a step up, but god that sure does get to me still(edited)
I got 2 suggestions regarding the megathread, first one being to add an image to the thread with the text "post your channel links here" (or similar), it could lessen the amount of posts the mods have to delete. I'd also suggest creating a recommended template that people could use to say more about their channels, other than "I'm live, come hang Click on my link PLS"(edited)
Current plan is to kill whatever is in the basement of this house we're in.
12:30 AM
Also, apparently after I stopped doing Wilhelm's accent for the game, and was just talking after the stream, someone asked if I was Scottish.
12:31 AM
Which is hilarious in the context of, Wilhelm's voice was my attempt at a Scottish accent, and he sounds Irish, whereas I'm from the US, and sound Scottish?
Hey to all the people marking the reddit posts as self promotion and spam Thank you It does make it easier when going back thru it A lot of people are trying to give half questions on things now like What is your favorite dog? - in the topic then - Hey join my stream at twitch.tv/blarahsdfkhealh Just mark it if you see it and one of us will hit it in time
Oh awesome, welcome! Pretty good. In the process of switching jobs, so about to have a couple weeks off between them. Really need it lol. Weekend was rough so I'm relaxing today
Yeah I like to mix it up rather than playing the same thing every time. I know that might not be best for viewership (some people only come by when I play certain games) but it is what it is
@maskedroyalwindadept it actually actively hurts you because someone will enter your stream, see you have infinite followers and no viewers and immediately leave(edited)
Most people that do F2F want to get to Affiliate asap, but it won't matter if they reach it because their channel doesn't have any semblance of a real audience (the whole point of streaming). People hope that they'll be the next Ninja, DocDisrespect (or whoever they idolize) by just getting to Affiliate, and waiting for the money/viewers to sprout out of thin air.
3:00 AM
It's like having 10k people like something you put on Instagram and thinking that a single picture would make you 'rich and famous'.
Exactly. Instead of wasting time doing f2f to reach affiliate, people should focus on learning new skills that would make them better content creators.
Hey guys, thanks to those of you who came and hung out for a bit with me this evening :)
3:08 AM
You definitely need to give people a reason to actually hang out while you're on. Like last night I went to check out someone's stream and they sounded drunk and they weren't even interacting with the chat. So I left and watched someone else instead.
Right? I'm probably going to be making a youtube channel but that's to help bring people to my stream, and then I can interacting with them when they pop in. You can't just spam your channel and not talk to those that are coming into the stream
Having an YouTube channel is the best way to spread word about your stream. Once you upload a video there, it'll work by itself. People search for something related, that video will come up in the future.
3:18 AM
I'm gonna start recording some youtube videos this month, probably.
That's awesome. I had at least 4 people in the stream tonight and had about 10 at one point for about 30min
3:22 AM
Yeah, that's one of the reasons I wanted to start streaming it, as well as other games. I'm thinking Fridays will be my mtg arena streams and Monday and Wednesday will be other games.
I think I'll do something similar. Get at least one day to stream my work, and another day for games (probably fridays). Then I'll have the rest of the week to plan out my videos for YouTube.
A bunch of people were interested in arena on Friday when I was playing but we're wondering how to play it and such so I might make a mini video series about the basics of magic and how to play.
3:24 AM
That sounds like a good idea. I'd love to see some of your work.
Yeah, I'd really love it if they'd add edh/commander
3:31 AM
@Thercio go ahead and send me a link and I'll check it out
3:32 AM
Edh is my favorite format of magic, 2 player is fine but there's something about sitting down and playing with a group of 4 with a bunch of badass decks
Just casual really, we have a edh night at my local shop when we can play... it's semi competitive because there's a buy in and whoever wins in the pod gets store credit but I don't have a cedh deck or anything
4:51 AM
Otherwise I just play with my husband and our friends
