Hey, I was wondering, can a MacBook 13 inch 2018 run an elgato, I tried comparing the requirements to the laptops specs but I honestly don’t know what I’m looking at
What's going on, r/streaming? I pretty much joined to possibly network and to promote my stream. I do it for fun, but it's pretty much my main goal to just have an active chat every stream.(edited)

Had to edit that last message so I didn't look like a dick without saying hello
Henllooooooooooo! My name is Halie & i'm new to the server! ^_^ I'll share my stream, but I mostly just care about finding some cool new people to talk to? Lol I am lame. twitch.tv/beelixir
Hey, I just want to say hi to all of the new additions. The sub has really grow recently, if anyone has any ideas for changes to either the sub or the discord please do let me know. I'm aware that the general channel here is a bit dead, but I'm not sure of a way to remedy that, I try to be pretty hands off as it's really intended to be a service for you and I don't want it to be annoying.
3:02 PM
I was looking at starting a twitch team or something, so members of the discord can raid others when they finish, but I'm not partnered or anything. If you think that would be useful I could try and see if I can set something up in a channel in here
@Misio I'm very interested into helping each other grow i am extremely new to this streaming thing, and i'd gladly help others however i can, but most of all i'd appreciate greatly any help and/or guidance to improving myself and my content! (edited)
I suggest one of 2 things, we either 1: funnel all of our focus in the current highest ranked streamer at the moment and get them to partner Or 2: we search and try to recruit a freshly made partner into the server or something like that, that way we can make them team!

Plus, with 44 people in server, we could realistically get everyone here to affiliate rather fast, is we do systematic follow and veiw raids. If everyone sets their channels to “archive past broadcasts”, we can all slowly raid and veiw/follow each other and watch all the past raids. This will 1: put everyone incredibly close to follower requirements 2: get viewer averages up 3: complete the “consistent viewer” obj. @everyone

With the entire server essentially and definitely at affiliate, it would massively improve everyone’s channels
I'm not sure honestly, mainly cause my life is a little unstable right now. In the middle of moving from south to north US back to my home town and I gotta change day jobs and stuff. I might later but it wouldn't be super soon.
What I wanna try to do is see if owner will let me or help me make a category that I’ll manage, and what it’ll be is that every day I’ll go to one active person (will cycle after I do everyone) and then I’ll announce to full server, so each day it’ll be a MASSIVE account boost @everyone(edited)
I’m definitely down to help everyone and mainly work as a server manager to do some major development, I just gotta find server owner and talk to him, so if anyone knows or can help I’d appreciate it @everyone
I'm not professionally trained but I've self taught myself to make emotes, overlays wouldn't be much more. I regularly stream and sell digital art commissions too.
@Tjpo0202 Hi there, I'm the server owner Sorry, I'm UK time so just woke up :) sounds like you have some good ideas, let's get them done (after I've had a coffee)
@Misio Thank you for adding those extra channels for us to put our streams in, I think it'll help us differentiate who tends to do what or if a variety streamer what they're doing said day they post ^w^ I moderate and run alot of discord channels myself so if you need any help with implementing bots, server settings, roles, moderation levels, ect. you can dm me and I'll see if I can explain and answer questions. Just if you have them at all. ^w^(edited)
yeah same, just finishing up a big project, and then another to start as soon as it's done. A bit never ending but better than worried about getting fired haha
Salutations Viewers my name is Game Dame and I am here to well, play games and have fun while doing them. I will sometimes stream practicing music on my ukulele as well, I hope you enjoy my streams!
I've added a notification bot for new posts in the subreddit. I'm going to leave it in the reddit channel for the moment so as to not spam up main chat too much.

I'm toying with the idea of an upvote threshold to repost in general, but I'll have to see
I have been trying to learn iOS and web development for the last year on the side as a plan to change careers in the next year! Have taken a few udemy courses and built some simple apps and webpages....any tips?
How do you do aircraft maintenance at home, you have a big living room?
3:37 PM
Ah, what udemy courses have you taken? I'm working for one of the largest Udemy tutors, he might be the largest actually, he's the guy that really did well selling courses before it became a big thing.
3:38 PM
The main tip I have is, you don't know anything, and the more you know the more you realise you don't know, and that's okay
3:38 PM
just keep on keeping on, and don't compare yourself to other people.
Write a bit of code every day, and suddenly you'll look back at yourself and realise how far you have come
3:40 PM
and I guess, node and the newish javascript frameworks are really cool and interesting, but there's still so much stuff built on things like PHP, that it's absolutely worth learning for the employability alone
Angela Yu web and iOS courses and have Ray Wenderlich but haven’t dove into his yet. I recently relocated that has put a break in my learning and I feel I may have to recover ground I have forgotten
Thanks so much for the advice, feel like if I don’t pull the trigger to leave this career I will not have enough time to follow the passion I have to become a developer. I was just looking for streams, I have been catching football on Weekends on discord groups and thought I would just take a look around. Glad I came across you! Has me pumped to get done with this powerpoint org chart and do something I actually enjoy!
Haha, good stuff, well, good luck! And I don't know how odl you are, but at my last place one of the senior devs was 70 odd, I don't think age is the thing it once was if you're good
Nice just hitting 40, looking at retirement from Military and then start over fresh. Don’t no how yet but the dream would include working from home on porch drinking coffee and watching the mountains
Yeah, I quit my last job for a similar dream. I used to run the support teams for a big European hosting company, Godaddy bought them out so I decided to leave and went backpacking through the Himalayas for a year. I started doing dev work for a UK company while I was out there and they offered me a job. I'm back in the UK so less mountains but lots of porch coffee drinking
Hey everyone. My partner is moving over from fb gaming to mixer and I'd really appreciate it if even just a couple of you could pop over and give her a follow. http://www.mixer.com/yelyah87, cheers
Question: The rules on the subreddit say that a decent amount of information should be provided about a stream in a post. Initially I felt kinda bad enforcing that but now the traffic is building up a bit, do you think I should be removing all low effort posts that don't offer times or a bit of background on the streamer?
#PokemonSwordShield comes out next week! I wanna stream AND beat a Pokemon game next week, so what category of game should I play? Comment specific games, too?
Anyone mind answering one or two super-simple (I think) questions regarding using a capture card w/ a pc & tv to stream? Trying to set up an LGP2 from Avermedia
I'm sure if you post the question if someone knows the answer they will help. You have prompted me to create a technical support channel though, I think that would be really useful going forward.
