That’s what I do, if I ever play games on stream, I try to be prepared to give some unique commentary on the game itself (i.e. facts on the game or strategies) with games like fortnite, I describe little tips that not a lot of people know about. Keep on practicing and it will quickly become natural, and always remember, we have your back @Ruwuby!

@bonbon do you have a sock on your mic? Not a literal, on-your-foot sock, but a filter for ambient noise that makes your mic look like an on-scene news reporter? That could help a lot.

The overlays people tend to make themselves on OBS, sometimes people pay money for the extra fancy ones but at the beginner level it's definitely better to make your own so you can learn the basics of OBS

also @everyone for beginning streamers I suggest taking a look at mixer.com as well (no this isn't an advertisement lol) they have a smaller following but they also have this feature similar to the NFL redzone, where they skip from game(r) to game(r) whenever someone is close to winning. This means that a small streamer can go from ~1-3 viewers to ~100 in minutes. Just looking to help everyone!

I love streaming retro games as well as some blizzard titles. Currently play Undertale for the first time as a promotion to try to get to 50 followers as I want to get to affiliate but its a grind, for sure

I enjoy streaming Destiny 2 content. Really like the end game activities such as the Dreaming City and also the Last Wish raid. I watch some other D2 streamers but not much as I’m streaming every chance I get. I enjoy rock music such as Rob Zombie

@CarpeDonnelly what do you mean retro games? If you're interested in gaining viewers faster I'd recommend trying to get into speed running those games!

I can be cliche and say it's too mainstream. I hear it's good to build on other platforms that aren't just twitch

@Hemlock I have streamed on Mixer and Twitch. The biggest audience is on Twitch and it has the most available to help you find your audience. Building simultaneously across multiple platforms can put some people off because it is hard to stay engaged with each audience. I would recommend finding one that has a feature that appeals to you and sticking with it.

Hey! A question about streaming 24/7 on YouTube. If I have a stream going 24/7 via "Computer 1" as a primary stream ingest, as well as it going 24/7 via "Computer 2" as a back up/secondary ingest stream, I take it that there is no way to switch them around and make the back up/secondary the primary and the primary the back up*. What if you had a 3rd computer, could you turn off the primary device (Computer 1), which would flick the stream to the secondary (Computer 2), and then start up Computer 3 as the primary. And then thus have transferred the device response for the primary stream and removed Computer 1 from the mix. Is this possible? Also just out of curiosity, can you have 2 secondary ingest streams going? And if you get a primary stream going again after it cut out, does it automatically flick back to streaming on the primary from the secondary stream?

The intent is streaming a console, hooked up through USB or HDMI I'd imagine. So I'm thinking GPU isn't that big of a deal. It would be a streaming station for local video game tournaments.

I think there is an inherent problem in the way r/streaming works in that the life of someone's stream is relatively limited and the front page is just a set of links that go to peoples offline twitch profiles.
