Hey friends - I am running into this blocky, blurry, type of issue while I stream on YouTube. Here are my streaming settings below and I will also attach a screenshot of what the screen looks like if I am moving a bit to fast.

As you can see my face blurred out and becomes blocky/pixelated

For Reference here are also my Specs:
i7-10700k
RTX 3080
32 GB RAM

Don't think you need anything else, but please ask if that is the case
Hi all, I'm fairly new to streaming and am mostly looking to start doing this semi-casually. I'm starting with Twitch and having major frame rate issues and am somewhat perplexed by where my bottleneck may be, because it would seem that I should be meeting hardware requirements from what I've read, but I'm uncertain. For processor I have an i7-9700k, 3.60GHZ. GPU is Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 GAMING OC 8G. My upload speed from Comcast is usually over 15 mbps. But as of right now I struggle to even hold 30fps @ 720 very well while streaming on twitch(edited)

Here's an example of one of my streams--it definitely seems choppier than I would expect for 720p@30fps. but unsure where the bottleneck is in my hardware
Hi I'm thinking of beginning to stream but I'm not sure about one thing, how do I use an external camera's input to my laptop, while still displaying output to my external monitor?
I'm actually getting an A5100 which has the Imaging Edge Webcam app, so it doesn't really need a capture card, but I think it would make more sense to get the capture card, so thank you!
@wernler I would advise against using that app unless you absolutely have to. It's janky at best. Simply plugging in a thumb drive can make it freak out. A capture card with the a5100 would be best.
5:30 PM
Also, it'll be limited to (probably) USB 2.0 speeds. the HDMI out will give you much higher quality than what you can achieve on USB.
So while setting up my capture card today i realised no audio was playing. I did what i would normally do to fix it (changing the kHz to 44.1) but it didnt work. After experimenting and figuring out the problem i believe my capture card itself is not sending any audio. Is that the possible reason and is there anyway to fix it?
Once you're in there, go to the Listen tab, check the "Listen to this device" option, and make sure you select the device that is attached to your speakers.
Here's what I'm thinking: 1. You have an overloaded USB port on your laptop caused by an unpowered USB hub. 2. If we reduce the load on the hub, you can possibly continue to use it for most devices. 3. The issue is power consumption, IMO. The goal would be to remove any devices that are there JUST FOR POWER and offload those connections to wall adapters.
I want to test something while we're at this point
5:13 PM
The headphone jack from the capture card has your speakers connected to it. Can you please load up a game and confirm that audio is passing through the capture device?
To recap, the hub you're using has the capture card, a USB audio card, the powered USB connection for your speakers, and one additional unknown device. What is that?
Your other devices should be fine in that USB hub, but I'd recommend powering the speakers from a wall adapter to remove the power burden from your USB bus on the laptop.
5:34 PM
It's not much, but it helps
5:35 PM
I can't confirm is there's an issued with your devices because the USB ports themselves are unreliable, and that makes testing devices connected to them problematic.
@Fogbound Did you see this on the Amazon listing? 【Quality service and Notice】: You will get 1xHDMI capture card, 1xUSB 3.0 cable, and 1xuser manual. Please note that the OBS Studio software needs to be restarted after audio settings are completed, otherwise it will cause no sound output. And you will get actual 1080p records by connecting USB port monitor after insert MIC/Audio Output devices.
I am a jazz musician trying to conduct interviews (via zoom) and record them with OBS (MAC OS). I arrange questions regarding some music excerpts and I could properly configure OBS to capture and record my desktop audio (logic pro, sibelius, zoom audio) through Ishowcapture and multiple output device method. The problem is that the person on the other end receives poor audio quality from my desktop sound. Since audio quality is a must due to the interview's nature, what is the correct method to get them the best audio from my daws, browser..? etc.
@TenderSausage (A person in chat suggested i talk with you) I am giving a talk at a camp without internet. I want to let the users connect via wifi to a router (I have three) and then "stream" my computer monitor in realtime to all of them. All locally. How?
11:51 PM
I understand this might not be the right place to even ask
Are these all going to be PCs, phones, tablets? What are the client devices?
11:58 PM
With NDI, each client would need to have NDI installed, so that might not be possible if you're using personal devices like a mix of cell phones without access to the internet to get the appropriate viewer.(edited)
11:59 PM
Same goes for UDP, you'll need a viewer like VLC
11:59 PM
@Brian Ginn If you need something that runs in the browser, I'll have to search a bit.

Looking over the guide, it looks comprehensive (read: technical), but I think you could just use the browser with it. I'll keep reading.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! So I have a pc, and a ps5. It is my understanding that if I wanna stream the ps5 thru SLOBS on my pc I need a capture card. There’s a lot of elgato models but I don’t know which one I would need. The other issue is how would the people in either the ps5 party or ps5 game chat hear me? My mic (yeti nano) would be plugged into my pc, so I wouldn’t be able to use it as an input on the ps5. I’m guessing since the elgato captures sound (does it??) I’d be able to hear the games and party chat/game chat audio being played onto my pc but how would I set it up so the ps5 party could also hear me? Do I need a separate mic? Or am I just thinking about this all wrong, I have no idea. I just want to stream on my pc, while playing nba 2k, but still would like to be able to communicate with people in my party or in game chat on 2k.
So I like to play cold war and stream. So I try to put two and two together and played with the settings and things, but it doesn't work, idk if this is the right spot for it but if u have any idea how to help and lead me in the direction in which i can get help that would be great. I don't rlly care what i stream in 720, or 1080. GPU: 2060 (Soon to be 3080), CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X, RAM: 32Gb- if u need anything else about pc specs just ask Internet - 446mps downloaded | 11.5/12 uploaded
Hey folks, currently streaming using a Ryzen 5 3600, 5700xt setup and wondered if the AMD encoder had improved at all over the last year? Having to use X264 and noticing some pretty bad pixelation when streaming at 1440p on youtube. Would be great to have that improved at all if the GPU encoder was up to it these days.
hey guys just joined the discord and was wondering if anyone in here has any insight on something im having a issue with streaming from my xbox series x
11:59 PM
anyone here stream from an xbox and run stream through a pc?
So the elgato capture card will capture game audio (including game chat I’m guessing) on its own, I just won’t be able to communicate with them. Which I guess kinda sucks but better than nothing.

Sorta. With a capture device, you're capturing any A/V going through the source cable (likely HDMI). If you're able to use voice chat in PS5, you can continue to use that.
But if I do, I need another mic. Plugged straight to the ps5, and then I hear ps5 party chat on pc since the elgato is capturing audio and outputting it to the pc right

3070, 5600x 32gb 3600mhz
8:18 PM
I mean I’m not even partner so I can’t stream over 720p

So was thinking the hd60s would be fine, or the hd60s +

@Maryo23 Well, yeah. If you're trying to play a recent AAA title on a GTX 660, you may have a hard time simply running the game, let alone streaming it(edited)
