I'm trying to think of a random new skill to try and add this year. Maybe like improving cooking or learning to go from "can't draw anything" to "can make myself a decent emote"
If you do want to try making emotes yourself I highly recommend Shyfoxx's YouTube tutorials. I have experience in traditional media but my hands are quite shaky nowadays and she taught me the tricks of digital media to get around the problem while also giving great advice for emote making specifically I like to think her advice worked given that I've even ended up doing commisions for others

I know a few people with the drawing screens that actually function as a monitor and a touch screen
(Which in the vast majority of games is a cutscene, many times unskippable)

That's harsh. Game devs should also take a bit more care about where they add copyrighted music, should at least put it inside the actual game.
That's why i just play streambeats synthwave or something behind my games, Cyberpunk has a "no copyrighted music" option which is really nice

Everyone has different tastes, really. I bounce around games and watch everything from FPS to racing to horror games. Currently stream Tarkov, Halo, and a little Forza and Goose Goose Duck. If you want to branch out, find games that are fun for you and aren't super saturated with big streamers. You want them to be fun so you can convey that enjoyment and energy to your viewers. People don't want to watch someone that isn't excited to play a game

The idea for this channel is to raise community awareness of each other's goals, which may lead to better success rates in achieving those goals; Many hands make light work, as the saying goes. There is also something to be said about putting your goals out into the universe, accountability, manifesting, etc. Bottom line: Let's work together as a community to make 2022 a great, successful year for each other! If you're willing to participate, please post only once in the channel with your goals and strategies for 2022. It can be a list, a story, a link to a YouTube/VOD, but please only post once in the channel. This is to really keep the focus on each streamer and the goals we each have. Does anyone have any ideas for channel points? Have a small but awesome and loyal community. I also have a full time job outside of streaming so I put a lot@of resources into my stream. Everyone knows about the drinking water, choose loadout or circumstances of a particular game (or choose game), but what are some others. I know for extremely high amount of points, don’t know exact number, definitely gonna be giving out@gift cards, but need some idea for the next two tiers down. I stream on Twitch and open to anything. Maybe Hot Ones challenge? Maybe force me to cook something and eat it. Just wondering what are some cool suggestions. Also, I don’t get offended by really anything, so there is no idea that goes against my beliefs, as long as it’s not breaking the law or gonna get me suspended from the other platform.
A "Hot Ones challenge" sounds good, but how realistic would it be for a stream? Would you have some hot sauce and food ready? Or would it be a thing for special streams only?

Could I stream from my Nintendo Switch by using just the Dock?
Just the console itself? I don't own one, so I can't confirm if it has any streaming software that you can install from the Nintendo shop (you should check it out). But from what I've seen other console streamers do, it's much better to get a capture card and stream from a PC, getting video and audio from your console into the stream and having more control over it.
You do need a wired mic and headphone for it

There is no shame in seeking help for when you have struggles, hardship, and feel helpless. I may be late here, but also never feel ashamed to call the Suicide hotline if needed at 800-273-8255 in the US I could give a hundred cliché words here about how things get better, but in the end the biggest thing I can not stress enough is to seek help if you need it amigo. To me that shows real strength, you got this.
I know that there was some third party service that allowed XBOX players to stream to that and be able to use overlays, but I don't remember enough about it to tell if it would fit what you need for your Switch.
There are twitch side plug ins you can use to give the appearance of overlays on the browser side. They can be a pain tho when you need to change anything.
I’m sure there is a market/niche for it, but it would have to be hardcore fans and people that enjoy reacts. I’ve never understood react streams myself? So with that in mind I’d say one option is to “watch” it with people in discord and also have the stream going with the stats and everything else to discuss it
One example I have in mind is a clip I saw on tiktok, he was a Manchester United fan and was wayching the game. Basically there is the facecam and the chat but also the starting line up, infographics and the guy is commenting / reacting and he discusses with the chat about what happened

yeah thats what I had in the mind. I think my only issue will be displaying the fight clock and # of rounds. I can change the rounds during the small breaks and reset the clock, but i wonder if there is an easier way to do this
Maybe have a bot with commands to change the numbers on screen, then set the commands as macros on your keyboard (or use a stream deck?) depending on your gear of course

well I would recommend checking out PiDeck - https://pideck.m0guy.com turns a raspberry pi from a zero up into a simple HDMI playback device. Great for those animated Titles, intro outtro videos.
@M0GUY No offense, but I don't think your PiDeck product does what they are asking for. It sounds like they're looking for a capture device, not a playback device. Am I mistaken, @N3ØŇ?

This isn't the "streaming" community you are looking for.
But there are books that are public domain and are safe to read - I've done it with some Victorian horror stories from the early 1900's, its definitely doable just need the right books

You need to specify what kind of feedback you need and go either on #🔧│tech-support-archive or #🚀│careers. Sorry to tell you this but people in here will very rarely take their time to watch you stream to give you advice as you go, we all got our own streams and content to worry about. If you really need someone to walk you through all these steps, you need to hire either a branding expert or a social media manager with experience on streaming platforms. If you just want to promote your streams, post it on #old🔴streams when you go live.

A lot of people go with ElGato cards,with good results for what they need. You could see their models, and what would work for you within your budget.
@TJ are you saying you need the capture to be at 120fps or do you want to run your game at 120fps and use a passthrough function to capture at 1080p@60fps?
I want to play my game at 120 fps. I don’t mind pass through being 60fps because twitch doesn’t do 120fps anyway so it’ll be 1080p 60hz coming out to viewers. I have the live gamer ultra from avermedia but I can’t get party chat.

Thats fair, its nice to make emotes that are related to you as well as maybe more standard ones A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself what emotes you use the most on twitch, or what emojis if any. My friend uses >.> a lot so he asked me to make him an emote that represented that face. I have a lot of standard-ish ones but they still fit my theme:

My advise for you now is to try to create variants of it, mainly for 2 reasons. • BlackAardvark may sound unique enough for your branding, but it's still a "color+animal" name, so there's always a chance of someone having thought of it before. Which may easily get you trouble when reserving the same name across different platforms (Twitch, Twitter, TikTok,YouTube, etc) • The name is too long. Longer names make it more difficult to remember. If a name doesn't roll out of the tongue easily, isn't easy to spell, or simply isn't unique enough, it's gonna be more difficult for people to single your brand out.

Yeah, getting suggestions from your viewers is a great way to create genuine engagement with them. You are on the right path! Just don't forget to leave some space on your schedule to your own choices too! Gotta find a good balance!
