Hey guys, I’ve been wondering about something. A few of my friends told me that the games I stream might be the reason I don’t get many viewers so I’m wondering if you guys think there are any games which would make things more interesting in general for people to stick around to. I’ve played Pokémon White and God Eater 3 before, but have hardly ever hit over 3 viewers at the same time and my total viewer count is below 10 on all of them. It’s a little disheartening to say the least, since I do enjoy those kinds of games, but ultimately I like to stream for others and not just for me to talk to myself while playing a game.

That is hard @Friendly because so many factors go into it. Yes some games just have more active viewers in them. LoL is always high along with things like warzone and fall guys/among us recently. There are also things like different time zones that affect when your prime time vs another prime time to stream is Seasons have started to change and everyone is a bit down on views currently so that is a bummber for sure too

I've been thinking that too. And of course there are the more popular games to turn to like League of Legends, Apex, things like that. But I myself dislike those games and am not good at them, so if I play a game I enjoy, it's a series which is hard to find on Twitch unless you look for it.

Very few people get good views. Have you taken classes in public speaking etc? Do you network in tbe games you play?

That is why I suggested games like those three They are games people come to twitch for to play with others

I'm a teacher, I speak publicly a lot and have no issues with it at all. The games I've played so far don't have much of people playing it anymore, sadly. Pokémon White's servers are discontinued and I don't know many who play God Eater 3 and are willing to be on stream, even without voice, just their characters, so that's a no go.

Just be aware that if you become a "jackbox" streamer and leave to play another game a lot of them will stay away from that and only appear on Jackbox, but if you get another 1-3 solid friends it is worth it!

Streaming games like LoL, CoD, WoW, Valorant, Fortnite is like hitting a brick wall. 95% of the viewers are always watching the top 5% streamers on that game (and that is being generous)

Some really great advice here. I echo what @Thercio was saying about avoiding categories where 95% of viewers are watching 5% of the streamers. In short Id aim for something that's around 1k-2k viewers, a good spread of viewers in multiple channels AND a title that you enjoy playing. Agreed @maaliktomtom! Key is to always be on top of your game, that way people come in and they stay. That time you get a break, you don't want to be money, quiet or shy. I always act like there are 10k people in my stream, even of there are none. If there's no one to talk to, entertain yourself. Throw things out there. Be yourself and take risks and always be improving your production, patter etc.

btw I think y'all made some good points. I do usually warn people about the games with thousands upon thousands of people streaming them, and most of the viewers in 5 channels. But at the same time I'd say don't forget to enjoy yourself. If you're just here for the viewers, then go where you think you can get them easily, but if you're not enjoying a game you're playing, you likely won't hold them for long. That being said (and I think someone mentioned), when you play niche games and you swap to another, you very well may lose some viewers or even followers

@Friendly what I meant by thumbnail was what does your stream look like from the preview page. Like if I click a game and it shows all the streams, what does yours look like? Can I see you have a cam set up, does it look too cluttered, etc. Then your actual "icon" may come into play, but I feel like people more often look at the video thumbnail
