Does anyone who streams from console/P4 use a capture card? If so would you be willing to help me better understand that piece and how I can utilize it to improve my streaming? Any feedback, links, insight and time is appreciated. Thank you all

@LifesDuality Basically if you just stream direct from PS4 it does that smaller screen puts your chat on the right and gives you a small camera box. If you use a capture card you can use any overlays and alerts you want. Make the stream yours. Just make sure you turn on HDCP or else nothing will show up lol. Most common mistake when someone uses a capture card on PS4 and they post here angry xD

@Swords and Statutes yea message if you ever need to bounce ideas off for magic. Also for you and @maaliktomtom if you haven't sign up for the magic content creator program on stream elements. It gets you extra stuff and early access to cards for sets

If this becomes the new norm for live music for awhile im not above spending my stimulus check on a new computer just for this.

hello guys, do you have any tips on how to stay consistent with your streams because my problem right now is that i feel demotivated to stream. Dont get me wrong i really enjoy streaming and talking and meeting new people but sometimes it feels demotivating and meaningless when you see you average is not going up. Or when you have a lot of viewers for few minutes and then the numbers dropping down at once.

@Helly its hard to do at first but just never look at your analytics, make a habit of checking your views/stats once a month for example.

@Shanecus hi! I started streaming August 14th 2019, and I streamed regularly for 2 months but I hit affiliate pretty fast so it was a surprise for me. Then my schedule started falling off a bit because of school. But I still streamed like 2 or 3 times a week. But then the demotivation started, I think it mainly was because I hit affiliate so fast but after that I was stuck I the same place, so I ended up not streaming for like 2 or 3 months. I don't know why but I just couldn't make myself to press the go live button. But now I have started streaming again and I'm trying to stream every day and have a schedule. But now again it's seems that I'm stuck in the same place. But its not like im streaming to get famous or anything like that, its more like i love interacting with people in the chat and laugh at my mistakes with them. I dont care about money i just want my stream to be active and for that i need viewers but right now it looks like that im stuck in one place and i dont know what to do. here is a screenshot of my average viewers (edited)

But if you are down “grinding” can be counter intuitive if it makes you lose motivation even faster

“Grinding” is a word lots of streamers use for just getting on and doing it. Then they say get on and have fun and sometimes they don’t balance out well. Streaming can be lonely. And that real fast climb to hit affiliate and then the plateau can be hard.

The loneliness is something im blessed not to have. my wife always watches me and interacts. it's a great advantage to have

@Helly there is a myriad of things with that. Game choice, social media, just spending time with other streamers, discord’s and so much more can “advertise” The one fan approach is slow. But it also means you have to only advertise to one person and make a connection.

I stream league of legends and valorant rn, yesterday I streamed minecraf but I think Mc is kinda bad for streaming. But over all I play guild wars, league, minecraf and valorant

league is saturated as fuck with well established highly skilled players. unless you are challenger, you'll struggle in that community. If you enjoy playing it, that's fine, but you shouldn't expect a huge amoutn of success there. Valorant is new so there's more chance of success there

I have league of legends fanart account were I post stream related stuff to and I have a discord server that people can join and talk about different stuff, also I have a live channel were I post when I go live.
