Oi! My name is cheapes1 I joined the discord to help grow my stream and maybe even meet some new people. Corona seems to have made it easy to get board very quickly, especially when it rains. Along with streaming i'm trying to break into blacksmithing but I almost never stream it for reasons i would rather not mention (plan on streaming it more eventually). If those games are your jam then play them and enjoy! Twitch just covers up a lot of the small channels to start with layers and layers of pages.

@Catsnake1951 Nice that is a good mix of titles to hit your viewers when they are high and low. I would suggest linking your twitch account to your discrod so people can find you even easier, plus it will show you are streaming on the side when you do.

Quick Intro here: I'm only recently getting into streaming more and more as I finally built a PC capable of doing just that. I usually game with a squad of friends and family, all of us with "Dookie" somewhere in our names because we're super mature. There's about 20-30 of us right now, usually playing anything from the latest shooter to NHL/FIFA/Madden, occasional rounds of Civ & always trying out new games. I also have been getting my son into gaming with me, nothing too crazy but trying to get him into the classics from my youth. Currently working on Sonic 1&2. He also has played a few FortNite rounds and I dont think I remember him finishing outaide the top 10.... with 3 Victory Royales. (He's 6, BTW). Anyways, just figured I'd stream while we're playing since it's what I'd be doing anyways. But anything worth doing is worth doing right, so definitely interested in learning how to refine and grow my streams as the games go on. Havent hit that affiliate status yet, but hopefully that changes soon!

I've seen a few friends jump 400plus followers in a week on those games or go weeks streaming to 3 viewers. It is dangerous country, but with dedication you can do it

I think you have great panels on your page and the only thing I would suggest is moving back slightly if possible. It looks like you have a chair right behind your chair lol so may be hard. Doing this will help the cam look more natural tho as it looks right in your face right now. Thing I've noticed about cross promoting from YT to Discord, is that it doesn't work too well. Lots of joiners to the server, but they don't really know what to do when they get there and back out. Seems the Twitch -> Discord route is the only viable one. Anyway I'll keep at it!

Yea and I thinkg @Christopher Theodorou sometimes giving an exact "Howto" video of sorts goes a long way on that. I brought a lot of friends over from Facebook. I had to do a live video just showing them what twitch was and how to do it though because some thought twitch was for gaming. Like to play games. SAme goes for how some just don't "get" discord. Makes me feel old since I was doing this back on good ol AIM

Becuase you can always rip the audio of the video, put it through Audacity or whatever you use and then zip zap boom it is on spotify. @Christopher Theodorou I need a new cam bad lol, mostly for my youtube stuff I am so behind on. And injuries suck man, I have been there before, even long crappy ones like shingles. I wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemies. The channel trailer is hard to track. The metrics on the chanel trailer are nonexistent. There isn't a way on the creator dashboard to see the clickthru rate on it. However the longer version of that trailer and the newer one on my youtube shared well and when I put it on Facebook it was almost always watched thru fully. So I would say it certainly helps.

First quick tip I would say is take a few and pop photos into places like your discord profile and also your twitch account! a photo will increase your chances of getting seen immensly. Much how you already have a photo and a following on your twitter. Also I would heavily advertise "like on detailed post a day" on the twitter since you have about 600 followers on there man. @Vixenoire glad to have you here. Art streamers are my personal favorite so I can support a streamer while working on my own stuff at the same time. Usually if the streamer has chill music and isn't screaming it is a good time. All of your panels look amazing and I'm sure you can move followings around with making the art and bringing people from twitter and insta gram around. Also thank you so much for having a commisions panel lol, I'm not in need now, but it is so crazy how hard it can be to find that info for some art streamers

Plus extra life and large events will bring attention back to you when you participate in those and in a cycle you can eventually help more and more people. About me & my goals: In 2010 I had a kidney transplant, it’s really given me a second life—I have graduated college, am in a fantastic relationship, and have a career. I am so fortunate! However, I know others with kidney disease aren’t as lucky. Since the COVID pandemic, I can’t really work as much as usual. So, I figured I might as well game and try to create something. This is where Twitch comes in. I want to raise awareness for chronic kidney disease (CKD) and show people the power of donating an organ. Essentially, I game for a cause. I also want to form a community for younger people with CKD. I know when I was younger, I wished I could have a group of people to relate to that’s were younger and into the same things as me. The goal: get followers and grow the channel. I want to play games to help raise money for the National Kidney Foundation (NKF); so far, I’ve raised about $600 lifetime for them through other events. The longer term goal is to create a foundation to help children on dialysis receive electronics to pass the time/help with school during their treatment. It takes hours away from their day per each treatment and it’s physically demanding. Anyways, that’s the story!
