Niche is tricky btw @DoktorAxel I had a random thing on it in the #tutorials when I first started. The big three are character streams - like dr disrespect or that guy that dresses up like his grandma Pro gamer- as in you are the best at that game, speed run it, something like that Or “being yourself” the mystical hard one for many. Being yourself while streaming can be difficult at times. You see camera on and you think you have to act a certain way. A small nudge is magnified on camera and awkwardness can show through. However the other emotions do too! To fight this I really suggest having at least one good person you already know I’m chat to talk with to comfort you.

Also know each platform is different. YouTube subs can happen quickly along with Facebook. Twitch is bad for discovery but good for earning potential Like on Facebook when i help people with marketing you can turn 50 bucks into over a 1000 follows easy by targeted marketing and also you have people you know there! So take each step at your own pace. Find what works for you. Some stream for fun, some for the check. It is a job if you want it to be or a way to show your friends games. You choose

I agree he is the best personality streamer for sure. It would be hard to get the best streamer title tho since streaming encompasses so much now. I love watching art streams more than any other. Pros stream to a specific audience that loves that trill of being better or the clutch moments And some just chatting streamers are the best at that very thing. I also thing critical role has had immense success And also if you like doing it for fun, then just deep breath before each stream and remember you are there for a good time xD

For how long do past streams and clips stay up for? Not the ones you save but every single one

It says on the twitch website. I forget the exact number but I believe it’s something like 10 days. Clips stay forever I am pretty sure but cannot be highlighted after the og video goes down

I heard it get mention on a stream I was watching that vods and such are getting deleted because of copyrighted music. Not sure if it can lead to bans, but it's still probably a good idea to avoid music like that right now.

The only music I've been playing on my stream is either from the game I'm playing, or my friend's ambient stuff. If he says it's okay, and anyone is interested, I could possibly link his stuff so people can still have background music.

I mean, if they want to hit me for using music I have legal right to use, seeing as I have permission from the sole creator, I have no problem fighting them on that, and my friend has a lawyer ready for copyright arguments like that.

If they hit my stream claiming I violated a copyright, they have to prove that I did so, and I would prove that I didn't. I have the proof, and they face potential legal problems if they can't prove that I used someone else's work without their permission, if I remember how this works correctly.

To me that reads as though they have had an influx of takedown requests for audio on clips alone. They have to take action on DMCA requests and there is no mention of banning, so it's probably an unnecessary worry. I'd just be prepared to lose random clips. (edited)

I have a schedule but my game isn’t set by day. I will often announce in the stream prior what I will be playing in the next stream, especially if I’m continuing a story based game (like right now I’m finishing Pokemon Sword to get ready for the DLC). But, in general I just have set days and times.

You can have a light schedule Like I do Sun-Thursday night Then I through in a surprise stream here and there Then having a theme is good as you grow Learning which nights are hits and not. ESPECIALLY if you are a variety streamer. Some people leave after you switch games and having a schedule is nice to draw them back. Such as horror. They may come back even tho it is a different game just by keeping genre

morning all! spent the morning rearranging my streaming set up, don’t have the best of the best equipment but i feel like that makes me constantly try and make sure i’m doing the best with what i have which is a fun challenge.
