The previous year's models get heavily discounted. $800 is still pricy but for a 600-800nit OLED that calibrates well, it's a steal. This is probably true for LCDs to some extent, since they can accept a high degree of input delay and ghosting to achieve a high refresh that wouldnt be acceptable for a monitor use case. OLEDs are so dumb fast by default 120hz and sub 1ms is pretty much standard

APL is about 1350-1500. Because it's a WOLED, in it's native gamut, it can peak over 1700 in 2%. It's not brighter than the brightest LCDs, but it's in the same league. MLA basically doubled what OLED can do

Honestly I think both technologies will be abandoned before they reach their peak. Both are expensive and have some large weaknesses. I saw some stuff a while ago about some R&D being done on an emissive quantum dot panel. QDEL I think?

I think QDEL will just outright replace all of those. Microled has been around for a long time but still doesnt have any mass market products. QDEL already seems to be overtaking it. I think it will probably stick around for billboards and other commercial stuff since it will probably be capable of ridiculous brightness down the road.

It's all made me acutely aware at how absolutely god awful everyone has been so far at adopting HDR standards. I can't even process my photos in HDR because they're not viewable in anything but MacOS after export. And I'm not even using Mac to export it.

Don't know if it helps, but I think it could be that helldivers and roblox share some component you deleted by accident? Try to verify both games in steam and see if that helps

Life is hard I’d do my best to support him and give him a reason to work hard to build his own life even when his own family is against him sometimes you gotta get creative but no matter what he’s gotta put his nose to the grindstone and when the day comes where he gets to test the cut of his sails I hope he has his friends there catching some of the light coming off him that day
