Does anyone play it in 1440p with a 5700x3D? I'm considering buy it to upgrade. I'm having a lot of stuttering with a 11400f + 4070 super (game gets 90% use of cpu and 50-60% GPU, but only in this fckng game well optimized).

I’ve found that draw distance tends to hit your CPU the hardest in HD2 in particular. What I do is I turn down stuff like that and terrain detail, but I keep stuff like post processing and shadows turned up. It helps keep the frame rate up on my i7-10700F

If you’re currently on an Intel platform, unless you can get a phenomenal deal on an AM4 motherboard and that CPU, I would recommend saving up for an AM5 board, DDR5 RAM and at least a Ryzen 5 7600X. You’ll severely limit your forward compatibility if you jump into AM4 now.

The CPU will help with ray tracing too. RT can also be memory intensive so that’s another thing you may want to consider upgrading. Generally, 16 is fine for gaming but I personally would recommend 32 nowadays

Yeah for light gaming, something like a business laptop with a Ryzen 5 5600U would be just fine. Plus you can take your setup with you easily versus a desktop, and you’ll have a few hundred left over
I think the key to doing gaming on a budget is to manage your expectations and do your research. For example don't expect a midranged GPU and CPU combo to run Cyberpunk 2077 on Ultra at 60FPS, instead expect it to run at medium to high at 45-60 depending on exact specs and settings.
