I suggest instead of a puney wall. It deploys the wall and gun. But on the edges it has posts that can be picked up by the player and can be positioned once placed it strings barbed wire across. And a place to build sandbags. Ontop of that Allowing you to more or less upgrade the position by building it up and when it upgrades it gains more sandbags and concrete to really cement it as a permanent structure. Perfect for defense missions where you are in a static location

yeah it's harder for a company to "get rid" of a worker after the initial period. oh and they also got rid of the worker in my group that handled the most cases per day! (i think she was sloppy and made mistakes pretty often, but still)
I'd take solace in knowing that company will be worse off without you. Most companies fire good workers first and wonder "Why do the workers with poor work ethic that we pay minimum wage to not make us money?"
