"Imagine you're a soldier in Desert Storm Everything is going great! The air war successfully cut off a lot of the enemy's ability to retaliate, and now all you need to do is go in and hold territory to win. You get deployed and successfully make your way to Baghdad, winning most of your engagements handily. Then your armorer decides to start progressively cutting the barrel of your M-16 shorter and shorter because you're not relying on an Arleigh Burke for every engagement. The logistics officers decide that you don't need a full combat load, because you're using too much ammo. They say that having less ammo will encourage more precise shot placement, which will lead to better combat results. Your unit's JTAC refuses to call in MOAB strikes against hardened bunkers, because they believe the bomb's shockwave wouldn't travel through the ground into the bunker. When you go to command to complain about the questionable decisions being made, they say that they will look into it and try to remedy things. They decide to commend the armorer and logistics officers for their smart thinking next week. You leave your deployment disillusioned with the people in charge. Before you board the C-17 flight home; a marine, crayons in mouth, runs up to you and yells in your face about how you're just not good enough to be deployed here and that you were using the longer barrel on your M-16 as a crutch for your incompetence." -Random Youtube Commenter, @Explam
