I love all the idiots getting mad at an AI app totally missing the point
10:14 PM
Not that I'd expect any less
10:16 PM
Listen up 15 year Olds who heard a YouTuber make a half-baked argument one time so they try to parrot it the best they can, every artist who has ever lived operates on the same principles Suno and AI does
10:19 PM
They literally do the exact same thing, take iterative input and then base their output, their art, on what they've learned about the world around them(edited)
10:25 PM
when a songwriter writes a song etc they are drawing on what theyve experienced/heard before to do so whether they realize it or not
10:25 PM
its the same concept translated to a computer.. all this does is remove the barrier to entry for people who want to make songs.. period
if someone wants to they can, there's nothing wrong with picking up an instrument. In fact there's plenty of musicians right now playing with Suno and the new features that let you bring your own music into it. It's pretty cool tbh
12:10 AM
in terms of gatekeeping it refers to the difference between having to purchase instruments, sound equipment, recording time, the cost of making a song has gone down significantly with AI but I don't think that makes any of it suddenly not music. It's a weird disconnect seeing there people who don't care and are listening to this music on repeat, and others ready to stab anyone who thinks it's music lol
Guitars can be as cheap as $60. Just looked it up I assume you have a phone?? You can literally make music on your phone. You’re right, the cost of making music has gone down. What’re you gonna make with $60 and a dream?
Also, yeah. Studios are fucking expensive. All of that shit is professional grade gear. But you don’t NEED it to make music. None of that gear is REQUIRED make anything
Like I'd love to get a band to do some covers one day
12:19 AM
but I wouldn't be like "ah finally it's actual music now"

The problem is ai doesn’t make anything. All this generative ai bullshit rips and steals from stuff that already exists. You can use this stuff as inspiration, absolutely. But all this shit does is hit copy paste randomize for you
If that's what you think is happening then how you feel certainly makes sense. I think way more is happening than that when you're using AI but that depends on how you engage with it. As these tools continue to evolve, there will be even less of the "randomness" people seem to hate on. I've heard people make some pretty cool stuff so far and I'm pretty excited to see where it goes. A couple of dudes here playing with Suno, the lyrics are absolute nonsense yet still a bop.
Ai can 100% be useful in certain applications!! I’m not saying all ai is bad and should be abolished. Nonono It’s this generative stuff that’s super no bueno. It’s not the randomness, it’s foundation of these engines that’s bad. Ai should be used to replace the mundanity of humanhood. Like running numbers and shit. Ai shouldn’t be used to replace human creativity
12:37 AM
Also, not what I think is happening. That IS what’s happening. That’s how these things work
Their* And you’re not doing anything with these engines. Feel however you want, think what you will. Doesn’t change the fact that these are plagiarism machines that’re heating up the planet further and the would-be death of human creativity
that literally exactly what youre doing.. also what does learning an instrument have to do with anything its a whole fucking song. do you shit on musicians who know an instrument who use tools to add other instruments in? Do you shit on people who use any tools at all? Real musicians just bang two rocks together, learn to bang two rocks together to make music you poser!
5:30 AM
youre just mad that people dont have to waste 12 years learning the obo or some shit and meeting 3 other people miserable enough to form a band to make a song anymore.. thats gatekeeping(edited)
5:31 AM
no ones saying that the AI generated songs are equal to someone who makes a song from scratch.. no ones trying to pass AI songs off as normally made ones and if they are that's a different story and clearly not what you're upset over(edited)
5:31 AM
people just mad over the dumbest stuff ever
5:35 AM
"Just learn to be a scribe! why cant you just take the time and get in with the lords who fund those types of things or join the church to learn to be a scribe! This printing press will kill books! Damn you gutenberg!"(edited)
its not about putting better music out into the world and protecting its integrity for you, its not about what puts the most music out there and removes the barrier to entry for peoples.. its all about your own hangups and the fact that youre mad that other people dont have to suffer like you did.. thats it
it wouldnt matter if they were getting paid either so long as they werent trying to claim they literally made the song using real instruments and vocals
5:45 AM
its no different than any other tool
5:46 AM
doesnt matter if it adds autotune or makes an entire freaking song from a prompt
that literally exactly what youre doing.. also what does learning an instrument have to do with anything its a whole fucking song. do you shit on musicians who know an instrument who use tools to add other instruments in? Well that's because his argument isn't that original music is better (I don't think anyone would disagree with that at this point in time in a general sense) it's literally that anyone who makes it with AI should be shunned lol(edited)
Ok let me rephrase that, it's not good for my argument in a perfect world where the goal posts would be "can AI assisted songs ever be as good as traditionally made ones" and not "should people be allowed to create songs using AI assistance and does it even count as art or a song"(edited)

Questions: How did you come up with the concept and idea for your treatment of this music video? The day me and Breakbot decided to make the video, I was already fed up with the inherently cold dig…

Handsome Costanza, known for AI generated hits such as "The Legend of Twinbeard", "Warning! You Are In Range of Enemy Artillery!" and "Austrailia Let Steve Irwin Die"
Yeah true, this was insane though, I kept buying better and better headphones and it was like I kept hearing new stuff over the years since I bought the album

I know Stranger Things and all, but I actually first heard this on the radio while driving to work. Just struck me that despite being synthpop from the 80s, I genuinely thought it was a modern take on the genre instead. Like a modern artist going for a retro feel...it's timeless in that sense, at least to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYwNM1t9ltI
