Context: High between some mountain peaks lies a valley where habitation is possibly due to natural hotspings. In the valley is a profitable luxury resort that make use of these hotsprings. Attached to the resort is village. Hidden in the valley a Bheur hag and her Oni servant have made a lair and seek to eat/terrorize/exploit the villagers. Their presence hasn't been noticed yet. However. Just now the Oni tried to eat a kid only to realize that the kid was actually a podling from a bodytaker plant. Indicating that there's competition. How would/should the Hag react to this development?
From what I know about Bheur Hags, they tend to get off to cold blooded murder and other horrendous actions. The Bodytaker plant would be viewed with respect but still as competition - think how two commanders from opposing armies facing eachother on the field of battle after multiple times would react to one another. The Bodytaker wouldn't share that same sentiment though, just the Hag.
Would the Hag go out her way or find a way to find and kill the plant?
Oh absolutely, just because she respects the grind doesn't mean she'd go out of her way to be welcoming. On the contrary, that'd probably make her more aggressive in her usual feeding grounds.

Originally the valley only had the Bodytaker in the region but as I started writing it looked as if naturally a Bheur hag would also be present. This in regards to balancing is a nightmare. Because if the players had active aid of a hag the plant would be steamrolled.
Either party would honestly contract the player party to eliminate the other, difference being the plant would exploit the player party to kill the Hag and then kill them whereas the Hag could still be reasoned with
